Meet "Jesse/Shelby/Remington"
Hello, we are the Van Hooser family from Chillicothe. We've always been a "dog" family up until our old dog died about 5 years ago. We waited about 2 years and then we decided we could not go any longer without having pets. We went in pet store just browsing around not expecting to get a dog by any means until I saw a little yellow lab/rottweiler mix inside the Adopt-A-Pet cage, we got her out and played with her and we were all HOOKED. We went home and begged our dad about it and he said absolutely not, but we got her anyway. We went back to the pet store to pick her up and the workers said that she did not quit barking and crying the whole time after we left, we named her Jesse and she is now almost 3. She is very good with kids and other dogs and would never hurt a fly. We wanted Jesse to have a playmate so when we left her here alone, she would not be sad so we went out to the humane society in Ross county and we were looking and we saw a little black dog that was to die for, we took her out in the playpen at the humane society and played with her, she had a blast, she was so small that she slipped through the fence so we had to chase her, after that, we decided she was just the dog for us. We named her Shelby and she is very gentle natured but barks at people she does not know. My little brother wanted a hunting dog just about 5 months ago. We all worked the idea on my parents for about a month or so and my mom finally agreed. We went out there yet again and we saw 3 puppies in a nice cage, we looked at one and we were going to come back the next day but both of them had already been adopted. The one that was left was the one that we got, his name is Remington and he is a rottweiler mix, he is still a puppy and very wild, but has 2 mothers constantly by his side to put him back into his puppy place :)...When we first started going to the Ross county humane society we were surprised about how nice and comfortable and how well taken care of the animals were. They have clean food and water, heat/air conditioning, and daily human contact. Our dogs are the best dogs that we could have asked for and we think it is ridiculous to pay hundreds of dollars for a dog when there are millions up for adoption. Our dogs are the most spoiled dogs ever-- they sleep on blow up mattresses and we play with them on our trampoline :) ha-ha.. if any one is looking for a dog, check out the Ross county humane society, you will for sure find the love of your life out there!
