On just a random day in September, my husband and I decided to go to the Humane Society to look at the dogs. We had been talking about getting another dog for our Schnauzer Stanley to play with for a while but weren't too anxious at the thought of having another dog in the house. However, after we arrived at the shelter we instantly fell in love with a litter of hound mixes and one special dog in particular. They were adorable! Yet, we still did not think we wanted another dog in the house, so we left slightly heartbroken. We were supposed to go away for the weekend and we told ourselves that if the puppy was still there on Monday, we would take him home. However, the little guy did not leave our minds all night and we decided to postpone our trip and go get the little hound puppy instead, and that is how Otie came to live with us. We were a little worried at first because our other dog Stanley is very possessive, but they got along great right away and love each other like true brothers! We could not imagine our lives without Otie now. His is sweet, loyal, and loving and has brought so much joy to us and Stanley.
