Meet "MilkShake"

We always get our pets from your center. So far we have three cats and one dog. The most memorable story concerns our youngest daughter Hallie and her cat "Milkshake." Hallie was just 8 years old and had never owned her own pet. She really wanted a cat so down we went to the Humane Society. I urged her to get a kitten so we could teach it easily. However she made a decision when she saw the cage with two grown cats in it. I thought the really pretty one was the one she wanted and it had a hold sticker on the front of the cage. The other cat was making quite a racket, in fact the lady at the center called her Gabby. This talkative cat was a reticulated American tabby and had very distinctive markings. I told Hallie I thought the cat she wanted was on hold and she said: "Not that one MOM its room mate!" We brought this cat Gabby home and Hallie renamed her Milkshake. She has a habit of kissing you when she first gets on your lap and she does it on both sides of your face! She has a tendency to eat everyone else's food but she is such a joy to Hallie and is always on her bed or next to her. We hope that more people will take seriously the idea of spaying and neutering and will come to the Humane Society to find new loved ones.
