The Humane Society is nonprofit corporation governed by a Board of Directors comprised of volunteers from the community who are dedicated to animal welfare. We are committed to the general welfare, shelter and placement of animals, prevention of animal cruelty and overpopulation, and education concerning humane treatment of all living creatures. The Society is not controlled or funded by any local, state, or national organization.
Founded in 1912, we have been here when you needed us…the Ross County Humane Society is an independent organization supported by members, contributors, and bequests. Your tax-deductible donation will help us save more animals and do more for people!
Adoption fees are $153* for dogs under 6 Months or Highly Adoptable Breeds and $132* for dogs over 6 Months of age. *Adoption Fees currently include yearly dog license/tags, microchipping, initial vaccinations, and a spay/neuter voucher.
Spay or neuter your pet… You can also contribute to the Rascal Unit, which provides reduced fee spay/neuter for individuals in our community.
License & Micro-Chip… We can more easily reunite pets with owners if they are licensed with the County or if they have a registered micro-chip. Your pet's microchip can be registered at www.petkey.org.
