A little over four years ago I lost my chow/wolf mix; Mojo and swore I couldn't go through that pain again. Two week later I found mysyself at the Humane Society, promising myself I would not take home just any dog, he had to 'Speak' to me. I tried not to fall in love with the first pup I saw but when I came across this little rot looking pup nursing off a beagle/lab I could feel myself melting. I kept walking all through the kennels and ended back looking at that pup. Shelia got him out and as he shook in her arms I told him if he was still there next payday I'd take him home. As I was getting ready to pull out of the parking lot, the little notecard that described the pup flashed in my mind.I stopped the car,got the calendar out of my purse, went back eight weeks, and found that the pup was born the same week as Mojo had (just many years later!) There it was he had spoke to me! That Monday Risin' became an official member of my pack.
Risin' turns four this week and it has been a long and crazy trip. He has definately grown into the ROTTEN Rot I knew he would. He's alot like me. Scarey, but true. He knows he was adopted and is active in events around the area such as the Mutt Strut. In 2006 he was the top fund raiser and I'm sure he was one of the top in 2007. People know I don't have biological children of my own but when I speak of my son they don't even bat an eye they know I'm talking about Risin' Groves.
