In May of last year, I visited the shelter with a friend who was looking for a dog. I took one look in the very first kennel cage and had to have her! There was this little tiny dachshund mix huddled in the back corner shaking and scared to death. Everyone else was barking to greet the visitors but not this little girl, she was shy. Long story, short, had to have her! We immediately bonded but it took her a while to like my husband.He tried so hard and she would just shake anytime he walked into the room. I am assuming she had been abused since she was so underweight and scared of men. Well, she has blossomed from that 5 month old shy girl into a sweet natured, lovey dovey sweetheart! She even cuddles with my husband now. She is almost 16 mos. now and we love her to pieces. Everyone says she has to have some chihuahua in her, so she is officially a "ch'weiner"! :D Her name is Lola and here are some pictures of her in all her glory!
